I am starting little something called Freewrite Fridays.  The premise of this is to inspire you to write something with your own brain.  Here’s the plan:

I will be posting a prompt every Friday for you, dear reader/writer/blogger, to write as you wish in response to the prompt. The prompts will be posted on Friday on topics concerning everything from faith to your favorite pair of shoes.

This is in no way a contest or a showcase of your awesomeness necessarily.  Hopefully, you will see Freewrite Fridays as a conduit of expression and thought, a means of exercising that God-given ability to create something.  Freewrite Fridays will hopefully be a source of inspiration for your tired and uninspired mind.

Mind you, this is a free write. You will not have to employ any formalized structure to your writing.  You’re free.  Just write.  I don’t care if you end up writing about something completely off topic.  The Freewrite Friday prompts are but a spark to your dynamite of thoughts.  Deploy them at your own risk.

However, I do ask you to follow a protocol:

• Have the phrase “Freewrite Friday” or FF somewhere in the title of your post.
• Have a link somewhere in your freewrite that leads to the prompt that I posted.
• Reply to my post or shoot me a message with the url/link to your freewrite  And I will go ahead and post all the links to your responses at the end of the day for my followers to read and enjoy.  I mean, come on, these freewrites are to share with your fellow freewriters.

You do not have to be super eloquent or verbose to participate.  Just be yourself.  

I will be posting a FF prompt every Friday regardless if anyone responds or not. Oh, and do feel free to get all your friends in on it.

Oh yes, and do not write to be read.  Write to write.  Your readers will appreciate your passion for writing.  Not your tireless pursuit of followers.

The purpose of this post in particular is to see if anyone is remotely interested in this.  Furthermore, if you do not have a Tumblr and you have somehow found your way to our FF prompts, you can most certainly participate.

I will do my best to faithfully produce prompts every Friday.
